Description
After lots of positive feedback from customers, and general agreement among staff, we have decided to make the temporary reformulation of Roo permanent. This updated formulation is even more plastic than the original and yet has slightly lower shrinkage. It still fires out to a peachy buff color at cone 5 or a cool 6, but it yields a more even and attractive stoney grey when fired to Cone 6/7 (than the OG formula). Glaze color response is unchanged. This affects all batches dated after #06202601
NEW ROO = Shrinkage ^6 9.5% , absorption at cone 6 less than 0.5%
Roo is a peachy, lightly speckled mid-range clay body. It is very smooth and throws excellently. Handbuilds very well. No Grog. Our favorite thing about this clay is how the limited specks are random among the fired pieces.
OLD VERSION (PRIOR TO BATCHES #06202601) = Shrinkage ^6 11%, absorption cone 6 less than 1.0%
