Turquoise Jewel ^6

Description

NEW FORMULA!!  NOW A SOFT SATIN SURFACE RECOMMENDED FOR DINNERWARE.

Turquoise Jewel was one of our original Signature Series glazes. This updated formulation boasts improved durability, a silky smooth surface, and exceptional glaze layering behaviors. The intensity of the turquoise color is a bit softer than the original but still a lovely blue green evocative of the ocean and springtime. Layering Turquoise Jewel under and over other glazes will yield numerous vivid shades of green and help encourage rich crystallization patterns.

While the original Turquoise Jewel was much beloved by its fans, it never got the appreciation we felt it deserved. This was mostly because the glaze was not good for food contact surfaces – it degraded noticeably from contact with acids (ie: coffee/tea, salad dressing, tomato soup). When changes in material availability forced us to reformulate, we wanted the new version to be much more durable. We now feel comfortable recommending Turquoise Jewel for use on food-contact surfaces.

As always, each batch of glaze is hand tested and always free of Barium, Lead, or Cadmium.

Tiles in order as pictured: Ice Man, Brown Bear, Sheltowee, Speckled Turtle

3 coats of glaze applied
