Dark Opal is a mysterious and exciting gun-metal/mirror glaze dotted with small black crystals. Turn it in the light and watch it change from black to silver, with flashes of rainbow iridescence. And see if you can spot yourself in there while you’re at it!Very responsive to underlying claybody – try it with our new decorating slips!
Application Notes: Apply thin (2-3 coats) to avoid running. For more dramatic surfaces, apply thickly but apply a catch glaze to the bottom third of your wares to prevent sticking to the shelf (we like Satin Black for this). Looks stellar on all KY Mudworks clays but we especially like it on Sheltowee or over Sheltowee Decorating Slip.
